Case Manager 2001/Enterprise

Case Manager is the smart choice in dental laboratory software. It was first introduced in 1994 as the first Windows software for dental labs and has been significantly improved every year since.

Case Manager provides a clean and functional workspace for managing your pickups, work in progress, invoice history, receipt history, inventory, credit card receipts, etc. Case Manager includes the following key features:

Pocket BenchMark

Pocket BenchMark is our bar-coding software for Pocket PC's. There are two components: a desktop program that synchronizes the Pocket PC with Case Manger and a program that runs on the Pocket PC used by technicians to view and update tasks. You can use Pocket BenchMark in two distinct ways:

  1. As portable batch scanner. Install a bar-code scanner on your Pocket PC and you're ready to move through the lab scanning barcodes.
  2. "Work Ticket-less" Mode. In this mode each technician has his own Pocket PC. This Pocket BenchMark contains a list of each technician's tasks to be worked on. He can view all of the details about the case directly on the Pocket PC: Items, Teeth, Shades, Patient, Pan, Customer, Customer Preferences, Notes, etc. When the technician completes his task he simply taps the Mark Complete button. Because all the information is in the Pocket PC it is not necessary to print work tickets. This also allows Case Manager to reschedule the lab without invalidating hundreds of work tickets. The Pocket BenchMarks always reflect the correct schedule after synchronization.

Mini BenchMark

Mini BenchMark is the latest bar-coding technology from Key Automation. It uses new keychain sized Memory Scanners. Like Pocket BenchMark there is a desktop component to the system that reads the bar-codes from the memory scanner.

Mini BenchMark is licensed on subscription model. The subscription includes the hardware and extends the manufacturer's warranty to one year. The current price for the subscription is $75 per user per Quarter. Each Quarter you receive a new CD with the latest upgrade. The subscription also includes free phone support.

Imaging for Case Manager

This optional add-on to Case Manager adds image capture and management to Case Manager. With Imaging you can acquire images from any TWAIN compliant device such as a scanner or digital camera. You can also import most image files directly into the software. After you've captured an image you can mark it up with annotations such as "Sticky Notes", rubber stamps, lines, shapes, etc. The annotations can be moved around on the workspace and are never burned in to obscure the image.

Since the images you capture are associated with cases in Case Manager it is easy to recall them using Case Manager's powerful searching facility. Once recalled you can view, print and manipulate the annotations.

Imaging is designed to work with most removable media such as Jaz, Zip, CD-R, CD-RW. Extra care was taken in the design of Imaging so that it works well with write once media like CD-R. The software won't waste space on the CD-R unnecessarily if only the annotations have been updated.

Credit Card Option

The Credit Card Option adds powerful credit card billing management to Case Manager. It's very flexible allowing you to charge credit cards as you invoice a case or on another schedule such as every Friday. Of course, you can always enter credit card payments at the end of the month. They key is that you have the flexibility to process these payments whenever you and the customer agree. To help with getting started Case Manager can print Recurring Billing Authorization forms for you to send to your customers.

The Credit Card Option requires a new Merchant Account with Key Automation. However, our rates are very reasonable (unlike Peachtree and QuickBooks) and we can probably beat your existing rate. To get started with the Credit Card Option please go to Credit Cards --> Setup --> Billing Options and print the Merchant Questionnaire.

The Credit Card Option is licensed for $295. There is a $30 Merchant Application fee.

Perforated Forms

These landscape forms are peforated down the middle and can be used in several ways, including:

  • To print 2 different work tickets per page. This is a nice size to fit into your pans.
  • To print 2 different invoices per page. Some labs/dentists like smaller sized invoices.
  • To print 2 copies of an invoice on the form. This solves the problem of how to get 2 copies on one form with a laser printer

Case Manager already includes all of the work ticket and invoice forms to support the scenarios above.

Perforated Forms with Label

Similar to the peforated forms above this form adds a peel-off shipping label. In the standard format the Patient, Due Date and Customers name and address print on the label. This is a very convenient way to get 2 copies and a label from one form in your laser printer.

The Peforated Forms with Peel-off shipping label are sold in boxes of 1000 for $105 plus shipping.
